Valuable win for regally-bred Goldrush at Dundalk

Goldrush scythed through the field to land Listed honours in the Al Basti Equiworld Carlingford Stakes at Dundalk.

Jim Bolger's filly, by the all-conquering Frankel and out of the yard's five-time Group One winner Alexander Goldrun, was bought for 1.7million euros by the China Horse Club, but only made her debut at Navan last month.

Stepping up from that maiden win, the 3-1 favourite looked to have plenty of work to do turning for home under Kevin Manning, but picked her way through the field to challenge a furlong out.

A smart turn of foot saw her breeze between horses into the lead and she only had to be kept up to her work to land the spoils, beating Marshall Jennings by three-quarters of a length, with Johann Bach third.

Manning said: "She did it well in Navan and that was a good step up again. I thought she'd stepped forward and I'm very pleased with her.

"She's a nice good moving filly. The ground was just a little on the slower side at Navan and she handled it, and she's handled that surface out there tonight fine.

"She's come on from Navan and she'll come on again from tonight. You would be thrilled with that."
