Captain Joy is to head straight for the All-Weather Championships at Lingfield on Good Friday following his recent victory at Dundalk.
Tracey Collins revealed the Sunbets Mile Championship, which he won in 2016, has been the plan for some time for the nine-year-old.
"I was delighted with his run. It was a long-term plan and he will go straight to Lingfield," said Collins.
"We hatched the plan at the end of the grass season. We decided we'd try to aim him to qualify and that has worked out.
"He's getting old now and he doesn't need that much racing."
