Tony Martin has Leopardstown hurdling return in mind for Heartbreak City

Sat 7 Jan 2017

Tony Martin has revealed plans to send Melbourne Cup runner-up Heartbreak City back over hurdles before the end of the month.

Last season's Ebor winner at York turned in a mighty performance in Australia in November when he got to within a head of Almandin - much to the joy of his enthusiastic owners, the Here For The Craic Partnership.

But connections are now keen to revert to hurdling, with Heartbreak City pencilled in for a big date at Leopardstown on January 22.

Martin said: " We are thinking of going for the Hurdle at Leopardstown.

"We will have to talk to the other owners in Australia but that is the plan at the moment.

"He's had a little break after the Melbourne Cup but is ready to go now."
