Political Quiz gave the Symonds team a day to remember when winning a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham in April, while promising young chaser Hollywoodien ended the last campaign finishing third in the Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury.
"Hollywoodien is having a year off. At Newbury it was annoying, as he came back with a leg injury and he is in Norfolk out in a field at the moment," said the Ross-on-Wye handler.
"It is annoying, as he is one of our top horses. The top ones try the hardest and they are the ones that get the injury.
"Sadly he won't be seen this year. He is only very young. He has got a leg injury, it's not bad and he just needs time.
"Political Quiz is out for the season as well. He came in great, but it is always the way with the horses that might have got a bit jarred at the end of the season. It is the same thing with him, he also has a leg injury.
"It was quick enough at the April meeting at Cheltenham. He gave us the best day ever and we had the summer dreaming of what could happen this year, then he meets with a setback."
