Tom George has warned that last year's third Roc D'Apsis is not a definite runner in the BetBright Chase at Kempton on Saturday.
George is also responsible for Double Shuffle, one of the ante-post favourites, and he is on course for the race.
However, the Slad handler may wait for Ludlow next Thursday with Roc D'Apsis, who chased home Theatre Guide and Opening Batsman 12 months ago in the £100,000 feature.
"Double Shuffle is a definite runner but I haven't made my mind up about Roc D'Apsis yet," said George.
"I need to find a suitable jockey who can do 10st as he's right at the foot of the weights.
"Adrian (Heskin) will obviously be riding Double Shuffle so it comes down to who is available and who can do the weight.
"As he will only have 10st, it comes down to who I can find as there's a race at Ludlow for him which he could wait for."
