Plans remain fluid for Heartbreak City following his disappointing display at Meydan.
The winner of last summer's Ebor at York, Tony Martin's seven-year-old went on to run a mighty race when beaten just a head in the Melbourne Cup.
He subsequently let down favourite-backers when reverting to the jumping game at Leopardstown in January and while better was expected on his return to the level in the Dubai Gold Cup, he finished well down the field under Joao Moreira.
Martin said: "He came out of the race all right, he just got a bit worked up and warm beforehand and was lit up in the first part of the race.I'm prepared to excuse him for that and we'll move on.
"There's no plan as yet. We'll get him home and give him 10 days or a fortnight off and see where we go.
"It's too early to say whether his next run will be on the Flat or over hurdles."
