Charli Parcs could prove the star turn at Musselburgh on Saturday after his withdrawal at Cheltenham.
The Nicky Henderson-trained four-year-old was taken out of the Triumph Hurdle Trial at Prestbury Park and is now in contention to head north of the border for a Listed contest at the Edinburgh track.
Henderson said: "It was just the ground. We always said we would run (at Cheltenham) on decent ground. We just didn't need that rain.
"There is a chance he will go to Musselburgh on Saturday for the Scottish Triumph Hurdle, as they always get decent ground there.
"After that we could then look at the Adonis (at Kempton)."
Owned by JP McManus, who still won the Triumph Hurdle Trial with Defi Du Seuil, Charli Parcs made a successful start for Henderson when scoring in some style at Kempton over Christmas.
