My Reward dominated from the front in the Chester Stakes.

With a total prize fund of £37,000 up for grabs, the Listed contest was the main event on a seven-race card on the Roodee and attracted a strong field of 11 runners.

The Tim Easterby-trained My Reward was an 11-2 chance in the hands of David Allan and having been handed a kind draw in stall two, he made a smart start and was soon bowling along in front.

Shraaoh kept My Reward company for much of the one-mile-five-furlong journey, but Easterby's charge kicked clear from the home bend and quickly took a few lengths out of the field.

Cape Coast, the 3-1 favourite, was doing his best work at the finish and was making rapid inroads at the death, but My Reward held him at bay by three-quarters of a length.

Harlequeen was best of the rest in third.
