Lady Macapa delivers for sprint king Clive Cox

Sun 10 Sep 2017

Clive Cox's weekend got even better as Lady Macapa landed the Qatar Prix du Petit Couvert at Chantilly.

Less than 24 hours after Harry Angel provided Cox with another Group One sprint at Haydock, his three-year-old filly took her form to a new level.

Off the track since finishing third to Magical Memory in the Hackwood Stakes at Newbury in July, she was never too far from the pace under Luke Morris.

As Kyllang Rock dropped away, the main challenge came from Pascal Bary's Gold Vibe, with David O'Meara's Fashion Queen also flashing home, but Lady Macapa hung on to claim the Group Three prize.
