Ken Condon stalwart Success Days on target for Newmarket assignment

Ken Condon is looking to run Success Days in the Darley Club Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday week.

The six-year-old entire, who stays in training next year, has not managed to get his head in front this season and has found his options limited due to the summer heatwave.

He went close in the Group Two Mooresbridge Stakes behind Cliffs Of Moher and was beaten less than two lengths in the Royal Whip last time out.

Success Days is entered in the Concorde Stakes at Tipperary this weekend, but an appearance there is not on the agenda.

“He’ll be entered in the Darley Stakes. It will be very much ground dependent, but I’d love to get him out on Saturday week,” said Condon.

“That’s our preference, and basically he remains in training next year, which is nice. Because of that we’re under no pressure.

“Obviously the slower the ground, the better for him – he won’t go unless the ground is good to soft or better.”
