After completing a four-timer with victories in a Redcar maiden, a Windsor handicap, a Listed race at Newmarket and a Group Three at Deauville, the daughter of Bated Breath stepped up to the highest level in the Prix Vermeille on Arc trials day.
Having forced the pace for much of the way, Stephane Pasquier’s mount eventually faded into fourth place, but Lanigan was pleased with his star filly’s performance.
He told At The Races: “They went very hard and she ran her heart out.
“In hindsight, we probably should have ridden her a little bit more conservatively. He (Pasquier) gave her a very good ride, but they went quick and I think she had a hard race.
“We’ll probably just sit until Champions Day (October 20) and if the ground is good or better, we’ll aim for that.”
