Although the son of New Approach also holds an entry in a sales race on Town Moor on Thursday, the Newmarket handler has hinted that the seven-furlong Group Two is the target.
After finishing last in the July Stakes at Newmarket on his only previous run in a Group Two, the two-year-old has won twice since, the most recent coming in a Listed contest at Newbury.
Tate said: "Hey Gaman is going to go for the Champagne Stakes but the ground has got to be soft for him. With a horse that likes soft ground, you have got to leave him in all the different places.
"If it was soft on Wednesday and it looked like drying up by Saturday then we would have to have another conversation, but at the moment the Champagne is the primary target.
"He is in good order. He had a gallop on Saturday morning and worked well."
