Caspian Prince primed for Flying Five assignment

Tue 29 Aug 2017

Caspian Prince is set to tackle the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on his next outing.

The Tony Coyle-trained eight-year-old will bid for his second successive five-furlong Group Two success at the Kildare track on September 10 after defeating subsequent Nunthorpe winner Marsha in last month's Sapphire Stakes.

Owner Stephen Louch said: "He has had a fantastic season. I think we are going to go to the Flying Five with him now.

"He is in really good form and he seems to be getting better with age. We went over to the Curragh last time and he beat Marsha and she has gone on to win the Nunthorpe.

"It all stacks up well. I just can't believe it - we will see where it ends, I suppose, and ride the crest of a wave."
