Breton Rock bids for Park Stakes double at Doncaster

Thu 14 Sep 2017

Last year's winner Breton Rock faces seven rivals in the Park Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday.

David Simcock's charge claimed the Group Two prize by a short head 12 months ago but having landed the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood on his penultimate start, he must concede weight all round.

The Hugo Palmer-trained Home Of The Brave won at Listed and Group Three level before going down by just half a length to Breton Rock at Goodwood, and renews rivalry in the Godolphin silks under James Doyle.

Aclaim is a leading contender for Martyn Meade after finishing a close second to Brando in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in early August.

Aidan O'Brien fires a twin assault, with Spirit Of Valor and Peace Envoy making the journey from Ireland.

Viscount Barfield (Andrew Balding), Nathra (John Gosden) and Sir Dancealot (David Elsworth) complete the line-up.
