Pontefract Racecourse is the longest continuous circuit in Europe at 2m and 125yds. It stages flat racing between the end of March and the end of October. It is a left handed course with a home straight of just over 2 furlongs. The majority of the last 4 furlongs are uphill and so suits a strong staying type of horse.
