The course has a long history of racing dating back to 1729 and is located in the picturesque South Shropshire countryside off the A39. It is a jumps only track and offers an enjoyable and informal day's racing in a friendly club atmosphere.

Tradition has it that in the fourteenth century soldiers from Ludlow Castle came here to march their horses. There is certainly a record of racing in 1729.
