Walsh tells racinguk.com - Star a big price

Ruby Walsh has told racinguk.com that he believes Kauto Star is a ‘big price’ ahead of his showdown with Long Run in the Betfair Chase on Saturday.
The jockey will ride the dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner in the £200,000 Grade 1 race (due off at 3.05pm and live on Racing UK) at Haydock rather than stablemate Master Minded at Ascot.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on Kauto Star, a horse who has given me so many incredible moments,” said Walsh.
“You’d have to say he’s a big price as Long Run comes here as defending champion and this will be a stepping stone to the King George and Gold Cup.
“In contrast, every day now could be D-day for Kauto Star - I know Paul’s worked him pretty hard so he definitely won’t be lacking for fitness.”
Kauto Star is 8-1 with Victor Chandler to win the Betfair Chase for a fourth time.
Relive his incredible 2009 win over Imperial Commander here – the verdict was a nose.
