Walsh tells racinguk.com: Listowel’s the aim

Wednesday 8 August 2012

Ruby Walsh has told racinguk.com that he hopes to be back in action for the Listowel Festival which starts on September 17.

The Racing UK ambassador is recovering well from a broken ankle in a fall at Galway last week and said: “We’re looking at around six weeks, so Listowel would be a good target.

“I’ve broken my right ankle before and it's the left one this time, so I guess I'm getting used to these setbacks. It’s obviously frustrating but it’s a quiet time of the year for Willie Mullins and Paul Nicholls, so I’m not missing much.

“I am not that mobile as I’ve bruised my shoulder and have a cast around my ankle, which means I’ve been enjoying a lot of the Olympics on TV. I’m not sure what I’m going to do next week when it’s all over!”
