Turner hoping for some Badr bing!
Friday 27 July 2012
Hayley Turner has singled out three upcoming rides to keep an eye on, headed by Badr Al Badoor in the Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
She told racinguk.com: "I have some really nice rides over the weekend, starting with Momentary in the EBF Stobart PJA Testimonial Lyric Stakes at York on Friday night. As the race-name suggests, it’s part of a programme of events supported by Stobart which will raise money for injured jockeys, specifically Rodi Greene and Phil Kinsella, who suffered life changing riding injuries.
"I think you should put a line through Momentary’s last run at Royal Ascot. It was simply too bad to be true and she’s better than that. This race looks ideal for her and she should be right there if she's back on song.
"I ride Badr Al Badoor for James Fanshawe in the Princess Margaret on Saturday. I won on her at Doncaster last month and she looks a lovely filly. We’re taking on my ‘home’ team in Michael Bell’s Hoyam, who is also a nice filly – and it does look a tough race as you’d expect, but I’m happy to be on Badr Al Badoor.
"One other to pick out is Laverre, who runs in the fillies’ handicap over a mile. She’s on a hat-trick and I won on her last time at Yarmouth. She’s in foal so this will be her last run and apparently she’s in really good form."
