SWC tells Racing UK podcast - there’s more to come from Run

Sam Waley-Cohen has told the Racing UK podcast that he believes Long Run could be even more of a force this season.

The amateur rider was talking to Racing UK ahead of the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner’s seasonal reappearance in the Betfair Chase at Haydock this Saturday.

“He’s not actually that lightly-raced as the French programme is quite intensive for younger horses, so he has a surprising amount of mileage.

“But we like to campaign horses though until they are 10, 11 or 12 so we take a bit more time with them. He is obviously only a six-year-old, and we would expect him to strengthen and he has conformed to that; he looks a bigger, stronger horse.”
