Strensall on Grimm agenda

Tales Of Grimm

Sir Michael Stoute's lightly-raced Tales Of Grimm could have his next start in the Sky Bet Strensall Stakes at York next month.

Owned by Sir Robert Ogden, the Distorted Humour colt ran a promising race on his return when a close third to Cogito in the Heron Stakes at Sandown.

That was just the second run of his life, having won a Newbury maiden last summer, but he subsequently managed only fifth in the Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"We put his Ascot run down to the ground, that was the only conclusion I came to," said Ogden's racing manager Barry Simpson.

"Sir Michael seems to think this is a horse with a huge amount of ability, he hasn't any doubts about him.

"The Strensall at York is a possibility, for three-year-olds and upwards.

"At Sandown he looked to be crying out for 10 furlongs, but it (Ascot) was one of those situations when we came away with the view that we wouldn't run him on that ground again.

"He's American-bred and it was Michael's concern before he ran. Ryan (Moore) didn't punish him, he could have finished closer but there wasn't much point when he clearly hated the ground.

"I think there's more to come from him for sure."
