Singeur possible for Wilfrid test
Wednesday 8 August 2012
A return to Ripon is likely to be on the cards for Singeur after his win at the Garden Racecourse on Tuesday evening.
Trainer Robin Bastiman is considering the valuable William Hill Great St Wilfrid on Saturday week for the improving five-year-old.
However, he would only be considered for Ripon's biggest race of the season if there was sufficient cut in the ground.
"He'll be entered for the Great St Wilfrid, for sure," said Bastiman.
"It will be ground dependent though, he must have a bit of juice in it. He's had problems with his joints so he won't be running anywhere if it's got firm in it.
"He's a good horse and when he gets everything in his favour he can show it.
"If he doesn't run at Ripon, we'll go for the Ayr Gold Cup, if he gets his ground."
