Nine for Longchamp feature
Wednesday 11 July 2012
Investec Derby runner-up Main Sequence faces eight rivals in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp on Saturday evening.
David Lanigan's chestnut went down fighting when losing his unbeaten record at the hands of Camelot at Epsom and is now given the chance to grab his first Group One prize in France.
Camelot's trainer, Aidan O'Brien, saddles another talented three-year-old in Imperial Monarch. The Sandown Classic Trial winner encountered serious traffic problems in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly, but finished better than anything down the outside of the field to finish eighth.
The home team is headed by Andre Fabre's Jockey Club runner-up Saint Baudolino in the Godolphin colours, while the master trainer also saddles the Khalid Abdullah-owned Last Train and Albion.
Jean-Claude Rouget's Lidari takes a step back up in class following consecutive Listed-race triumphs. Hard Dream, Top Trip and Nutello complete the field.
