Music out for more Oaks glory
Sunday 1 July 2012
Michael Bell's Set To Music will bid to win her second Oaks of the season at Haydock on Saturday.
The Queen's filly already has the Warwickshire version to her name and will line up in the Bet365 Lancashire Oaks on Merseyside.
"She'll head to Haydock on Saturday," said Bell.
"I was pleased with how she quickened up at Warwick and I was also pleased with her run at Haydock before that, where she was a little unlucky and didn't get the rub of the green.
"I think her optimum trip is a mile and a half, despite winning over shorter at Warwick. She likes slow ground, she has won on good to firm but it's always been on well-watered ground. She's at home with cut and does not want it too quick."
David Elsworth could bid to win the race for the third time in four years with Salford Art, fourth in the Ribblesdale last time out, having won it with Barshiba in 2009 and 2010.
Ed Dunlop's Testosterone is the highest-rated entry based on her form in France but she was well beaten in the Hardwicke Stakes on her debut for the yard.
Shimmering Surf, now trained by Roger Varian, beat Set To Music on her last start, while Marcus Tregoning's Hawaafez arrives on the back of an impressive win at Newbury.
John Gosden's Great Heavens and Roger Charlton's Sea Of Heartbreak are also amongst the 12 entries.
