Muir going along Doncaster path

Purr Along may step up to a mile at Doncaster next month after winning the Group Three Prix du Calvados at Deauville on Saturday.
William Muir is considering the May Hill Stakes for the daughter of Mount Nelson after she got home by a short neck in the seven-furlong contest in the hands of Umberto Rispoli.
"She's a nice filly and at Sandown on her previous run she was unlucky because she got hampered and was banged up against the rails twice, which was enough to take the momentum out of her," said the Lambourn-based trainer.
"That was like her first proper race because she was the best of the bunch on her debut and won like it was an exercise canter.
"She had come on a lot for Sandown. I didn't know who Umberto Rispoli was, but I was told he was a good jockey so we went with him. He said he went to the front too soon and should have won by further. He went to get the race won and he said she idled in front.
"She's very exciting and is a filly that will improve with age. I just want to monitor her. She has just started to thrive in the last few months, but there is a chance she just might go weak, in which case I would have to stop.
"There's a possibility she'll have two more runs this year and we would probably look at the May Hill in just under four weeks' time. That will tell us if she's got the strength to get a mile at this stage. We'd then enter her in the Marcel Boussac and that would be it for the year.
"If we found in the May Hill she didn't stay the mile or that she's lost her strength, we knew she's a work in progress and that she's a nice filly. We have to look after her."
