Moore misses winning ride
Sunday 12 August 2012
Ryan Moore emerged largely unscathed after a fall at Deauville but had to miss the winning ride on Excelebration in the Prix Jacques le Marois.
Moore was on board Richard Hannon's Havana Gold in the Listed Francois Boutin Stakes when the saddle slipped with the horse still holding every chance, sending the rider crashing to the ground.
He was quickly on his feet, but was ruled out of the Group One showpiece, with Christophe Soumillon called up as the replacement by Aidan O'Brien.
Hannon's son and assistant Richard jnr said: "It's one of those things, the saddle slipped and thank goodness Ryan's all right. This horse looks a perfect type for the Racing Post Trophy."
The race was won by Nicolas Clement's Style Vendome.
