Watch Turkish, German and French action
Friday 2 September 2011
Racing UK is showing a feast of international racing on Sunday, highlighted by the International Racing Festival at Veliefendi Racecourse in Turkey.
British runners Indian Days and Halicarnassus are both bidding to win the Group 2 Bosphorus Cup for a second time. An entry of 10 is split evenly between local and international-trained runners also including Godolphin's dual Group 1 winner Campanologist, ridden by Frankie Dettori (pictured), and Luca Cumani's Afsare
The Group 2 Topkapi Trophy, the richest race of the Festival, has attracted eight declarations. Andrew Balding, whose Dream Eater finished runner-up in both 2009 and 2010, will be hoping it is third time lucky but the six year-old will be up against one of the most consistent milers in Turkey, Astrakhan.
We are also showing the Group 1 Grosser Preis Von Baden from Baden Baden in Germany, where the Marco Botti-trained Joshua Tree will line up, and three Group 3 races from Longchamp.
