Hughes wins Racing UK Glorious Award

Richard Hughes today won his third straight Racing UK Glorious Goodwood Top Jockey Award with four winners at Glorious Goodwood.

Hughes, who rode a record-breaking nine in 2010 and five winners last year, receives a lifetime subscription to Racing UK, a £1,000 donation to the charity of his choice, and a deluxe Goodwood hamper following yet another brilliant meeting.

As he has been on the track, Hughes swooped late to take the lead with only four races left at the five-day meeting, thanks to his win on The Fugue in the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes.

His total of four wins was matched by Tom Queally, but took the award by virtue of riding more seconds.

Racing UK’s Commercial Director Nick Mills said: “We were delighted to sponsor the Glorious Goodwood Top Jockey Award for a third year running and it was great to see Richard win it yet again as he’s such a fantastic ambassador for the sport.”
