Hayley ‘healing well’
Hayley Turner told racinguk.com on Wednesday afternoon that her broken ankle is “healing well” according to her physio.
Racing UK ambassador Turner, who suffered the break at Bath on August 31, said: “I saw Kevin Hunt in Cambridge today, who a lot of the jockeys use and is very well-regarded, and he was pleased with how everything was looking.
“He said it would be two to three months before I’d be back in action, so it’s unlikely that I will return this calendar year, but never say never.
“I can start the rehabilitation process in a couple of weeks with some swimming and build up slowly, but there’s no rush. Kevin told me that I would probably be able to ride before I could run.
“It was just great to have the cast removed yesterday, and it’s brilliant not having to rely on crutches now, so I can use my hands once again!”
