Frost threat to Carlisle

N0343581328438601180A

Carlisle's meeting on Wednesday is in doubt due to a frozen track.

A 2pm inspection has been called for Monday, with snow on top of the frozen surface. Temperatures have dipped to as low as minus 7C at the Cumbrian venue.

Acting clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: "We're going to inspect at 2pm tomorrow. The problem really is frost rather than snow. There has been two very keen frosts which has got right into the ground. If it's no better by 2pm tomorrow then we'll have a good idea."
