Danedream confirmed for Baden Baden
Monday 20 August 2012
Star filly Danedream will appear next in the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden on September 2 as she prepares to defend her Prix de l'Arc de Tromphe title - according to Baden Racing.
Last October she took the most prestigious turf race in the world, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, by five lengths after winning the same Baden-Baden Group 1 contest, run over 12 furlongs, by six lengths.
The four-year-old filly was last seen when winning the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot by a nose from Nathaniel.
Danedream is a best-priced 7-1 to become the first back-to-back winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe since Alleged in 1977 and 78.
The Baden Grand Prix has proved to be a decent trial for the Arc, with Marienbard winning both races in 2002 and Youmzain using the race twice as a springboard to being placed in 2007 and 2008.
