Champions Day beckons for Farhh

Tuesday 28 August 2012

Farhh

Godolphin are hoping Farhh will be rewarded for his consistent efforts at the top table when he runs on Champions Day at Ascot.

The four-year-old colt, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, has been placed in all four attempts at Group One level since running away with the Thirsk Hunt Cup in May.

He has taken the runner-up spot in his last two starts behind the mighty Frankel in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and the Juddmonte International at York.

Farhh holds entries in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over a mile and the 10-furlong Qipco Champions Stakes at the Berkshire track on October 20.

Frankel is also engaged in both, with the latter race his probable target.

"He's fine. Champions Day is his big goal - either the mile or the mile and a quarter. We will cross that bridge when we get to it," said Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford.

"Whether he will have one more race before that we will have to decide.

"If Frankel frightens away every other horse, leaving him and Farhh, then we might just take him on again!"
