Boom to bid for Ascot honours

Boom And Bust

Boom And Bust could make a quick reappearance at Ascot's Shergar Cup meeting on Saturday following an excellent effort in defeat at Glorious Goodwood.

Defending his crown in the ultra-competitive Betfred Mile, the five-year-old did not enjoy much luck in running, but ran with plenty of credit to be beaten a little under three lengths into fourth.

Boom And Bust holds an entry in the Les Ambassadeurs Casino Shergar Cup Mile and trainer Marcus Tregoning is leaning towards letting his charge run.

"It was a terrific performance. We didn't have the best of draws but there is nothing you can do about that and it was a marvellous effort," said the Lambourn trainer.

"He's come out of the race very well and I think there's every chance you'll see him again in the Shergar Cup on Saturday.

"There are several options for him at the end of the month, but nothing much before then, so he might as well go again this weekend."
