Boom sounded out for Mile double

Marcus Tregoning will allow Boom And Bust an attempt to become the first dual winner of the Betfred Mile at Goodwood on August 3.
The Lambourn trainer is responsible for two of the 70 entries for the valuable handicap, which was first staged in 1987, and is also planning to send his Britannia third Bronze Angel down to Sussex.
"Boom And Bust won the race last year and we would love to go back there with him again, while Bronze Angel is a rapidly improving three-year-old, so it's possible both of them could run," Tregoning said.
"With Boom And Bust it has been a target race for him as he appeared to act on the track last year and they normally get the ground right at Goodwood.
"He wasn't quite right after last year's race so I gave him a long break and he ran well for a long way in the Royal Hunt Cup (when 16th of the 30 runners). He is fine after his run at Ascot and I would think the Betfred Mile will be his next race."
Of the other runner, he said: "Bronze Angel looked a bit unlucky in the Britannia. He is very progressive and he is a pretty decent horse so it would be well worth running him in a race like the Betfred Mile. He is a horse I have always liked and he has continued to improve. I don't know what heights he might scale but he is certainly going well.
"We've put the cheekpieces on him and they seem to have helped him travel in his races, but he has come on an enormous amount physically and it might just be that he is a lot stronger now. We will leave them on if he keeps running well.
"I think Goodwood will be fine for him as he ran a very good race as a juvenile at the track when he was unlucky not to get a run up the inside rail."
Tom Tate's Prince Of Johanne, who added the Royal Hunt Cup to his victory in the Cambridgeshire, is also among the entries along with those who were placed - Excellent Guest, Don't Call Me, Field Of Dream and Invisible Man - at Ascot.
The 6-1 favourite with the sponsors is John Gosden's lightly-raced Trade Commissioner, an impressive winner at Salisbury last time. The entries also include Red Duke, a Group winner at two who was disappointing in the Jersey Stakes.
