Ballydoyle team have Coventry duo

Joseph and Aidan O'Brien

Aidan O'Brien sends over Cristoforo Colombo and Lines Of Battle for the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot as he bids for a seventh win in the juvenile contest.

The former is ridden by the trainer's son Joseph, and while he admits it is a long way from a Navan maiden to Royal Ascot, Cristoforo Colombo's sire Henrythenavigator won this race in 2007 and his half-brother Crusade landed the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket last year.

The young rider said: "He seems a nice horse. Obviously it's a big step up from his first run from winning a maiden to the Coventry, but he seems to have done things right at home."

Charlie Hills' father Barry tasted success in this race three times and he is keen to uphold family honour with Englishman and Funk Soul Brother carrying the family torch.

"They both won good maidens whose form is working out well, and we can't really split them," he told www.charliehills.com. "They have never worked together at home either. It was a tough decision for Michael (Hills) to pick between the two, and we are pleased Darryll Holland is riding Funk Soul Brother as he partnered him in his first ever bit of work and loved him then."
