Another famous victory for Name

Famous Name gets the job done

Famous Name registered the 20th victory of his now legendary career with a cosy success in the Refuse To Bend Solonaway Stakes at the Curragh

Rousted along to lead a furlong out by Pat Smullen, Dermot Weld's admirable seven-year-old shrugged off One Spirit to score by two and three-quarter lengths, with Aloof in third.

It wasn't quite the performance of a 2-5 favourite, but he won easily enough in the end to land his seventh course win and 13th in Group races for owner Khalid Abdullah.

Weld said: "It's a special moment. He's won 20 and I think 19 of those are Group or Listed races. He's an amazing horse and a joy to train.

"He works here twice a week with the same enthusiasm as he does when he's racing. At the slightest moment that he isn't still enjoying it, we will stop.

"He's entered in a Group One in Italy in two weeks' time. We'll think about that, otherwise the Joel Stakes at Newmarket is a possibility."
