Josh Moore is set for another spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in a fall at Huntingdon on Boxing Day.
The rider was partnering Torhousemuir in a two-and-a-half-mile novice hurdle when he fell at the seven flight.
Moore, who has dislocated his shoulder before, is due to see his specialist in a month's time.
Trainer Gary Moore, the jockey's father, said: "He's dislocated his shoulder, so he'll be out for a while.
"He's going to see the specialist again in four weeks, I think, so we'll learn a bit more then."
Moore is the brother of fellow National Hunt jockey Jamie and multiple Flat champion Ryan and last season steered Ar Mad to Grade One glory.
He was also on board when Ar Mad finished a creditable fourth in the Tingle Creek at Sandown last month, but looks set to miss his next intended appearance in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot on January 21.
Moore is set to also run Sire De Grugy in Berkshire in three weeks.
