Morning check for Redcar
Sunday 28 October 2012
Redcar's meeting on Monday is subject to a 7.30am precautionary inspection on raceday morning.
Officials at the Tees Valley circuit must assess conditions in light of a forecast for further rain overnight.
The going is currently heavy and the eight-race card is due to start at 12.40pm with a juvenile fillies' maiden.
Acting clerk of the course Steve Gofton is just being prudent in checking as the track has lost three meetings already this year.
He said: "It's heavy ground and we've had 20 millimetres of rain over the last couple of days, so we just want to double check. We are all right at the moment.
"The weather forecast says we should get another 3mm overnight. There shouldn't be any problems. It's just in case."
