Doncaster on Regal agenda
Sunday 14 October 2012
Regal Parade could finish off his season at Doncaster later this month following a terrific victory at York on Saturday.
Although perhaps not the force he once was, the dual Group One-winning eight-year-old has run some terrific races since being switched to Milton Bradley earlier this year, not least when second in last month's Ayr Gold Cup.
Although disappointing on his next start at Ascot, turned out just a week later he fairly rattled home to secure a deserved first victory in over two years in the Coral Sprint Trophy on the Knavesmire.
Bradley said: "He's as bright as a button this morning and we were very pleased with him on Saturday. He ran a very good race and he had so much ground to make up, but he seems to like being ridden like that.
"I think at Ascot we made too much use of him and he prefers to be held up, then he really picks up in the last furlong.
"He might go to Doncaster in a fortnight for a Listed race now. There aren't many options left at this time of year.
"He's a great horse and he never seems to have any wear and tear on him after a race."
