Traveller can lead the way home

12 June 2012

I am at home today with my little girl, but will be back with you on Racing UK for the rest of the week. I will be in the studio on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and am looking forward to getting back on the horse so to speak. Let’s hope I will be watching and analysing racing taking place on proper Flat racing ground!

My selection today is Traveller’s Tales at Salisbury. A step up in trip really worked the oracle for this filly last time out when she posted a fast time win here at Salisbury. She is unexposed at this sort of trip and with her trainer having a tremendous record at the track she is sure to give us a run for our money. Once again she is racing against her own sex and as such she has been found a good opportunity by her trainer. Having Richard Hughes on board is an added bonus. She can be backed with some confidence.

Today’s Selection

4.05 Salisbury – Traveller’s Tales

The England team have raised the expectations of many by bagging a draw against France last night in a game that neither team wanted to lose, indeed a draw suited them both. Despite gaining a point we should not get carried away, our next opponents are the improving Sweden and Ukraine are no pushovers. Hodgson certainly has got the team organised in defence, but until Rooney returns I do wonder where goals are going to come from.

I know that I go on about rugby league from time to time on here, but I make no apology for urging you to watch the State of Origin game from Australia on Wednesday morning. The annual clash between Queensland and New South Wales is always a fierce and skilful encounter and the games are usually tight affairs. This is the second game in the three-match series and Queensland are one nil up in the series. You may think that I am talking nonsense, all I would say is give it a try; it really makes for magnificent viewing.

I hope you all have a dry and enjoyable day.

All the best.
