The Middleham maestro returns

11 July 2012

At last Mark Johnston's stable has had a winner. He has had over 50 blanks in the last few weeks and then Enery finally broke the sequence at Wolverhampton yesterday. It is rare for a trainer of such quality to have such a bad run and normally you can put it down to bad luck or a virus in the yard. There has been little said about either but hopefully they have turned the corner now. You can look at it as a positive because if he does kick back into form some of his horses may improve leaps and bounds on their recent runnings. I am sure he will finish off the season with a rattle. All things considered with all the rain we have had recently I am sure there are many stables that have a nice horse or two ready to go once the ground firms up and the recent form may well be treated with a side of caution when race reading over the next few weeks, it cant rain forever?

I have a funeral to attend today so a day off the machines, I will Tweet some selections for the evening racing later to Twitter account followers.

Good luck today.
