The Goodwood marathon continues today
3 August 2012
The Goodwood marathon continues today and I am back in the studio this afternoon to help guide the ship through the choppy waters of three meetings. There are also two evening meetings on Racing UK, but as they kick into gear I will hand the reins over to Ollie Bell and make my way home for a curry, a beer and a night of Rugby league on the TV. In fact once I get home tonight it promises to be a weekend of Rugby as we are heading to the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday to watch the London Broncos play Salford. I am quite keen on backing the Broncos on the handicap as they have a new coach who is miles better than the one who they have just sacked, but I will bring you more news on that front tomorrow.
My selection yesterday was Master of War who was narrowly denied in the Richmond Stakes. Today I am keen on the chances of Gatewood in the 2.00 at Goodwood. This progressive type has won his last three starts and although he had a hard race at Ascot last time he posted a good speed figure and he is ready for this step up in grade. Dubai Prince is a danger after his confidence boosting win last time, but I am pretty confident of a big run from Gatewood and he should be backed with confidence to win the opener. At the time of writing he is about a 15/8 shot.
Have a good day folks
