The calm before the storm!
18 June 2012
With all the hype surrounding Black Caviar and Frankel in the build-up to Royal Ascot this week you would think there are no other horses running. And if we have got all the horrible weather out of the way this week it could be one of the best Royal Ascot's ever! Perhaps not for Excelebration, who will have to look at Frankel's backside tomorrow … again. There will be ten horses in opposition and I’m filing the race under that rare category of events for me; that is I will enjoy it without having a bet on it.
There is little of interest for me today apart from the Warwickshire Oaks, where I am going to take a chance on Dragonera for Ed Dunlop. She is tough and consistent and the ground should not be a problem. You can't say that for many of her opponents today so I am going to go for a rare each-way selection to top up the competition bank for Royal Ascot.
I have a couple of horses to add to your NagMe Accounts today, Luca Cumani's Sea Smoke and Chigun, who improved by around eights lengths on the previous outing on my calculations and should be followed.
Good luck today.
