Today’s Selection

2.35 York - Hillview Boy (each way 7/1 Bet65)

It is 5.00am on Saturday morning and my daughter is charging around as if it were 9.00am. She slept really well, but a good sleep often means an early rise. That is the pay off and I am fine with that, although not leaving the Racing UK studio until 10.00pm last night means that I am somewhat bleary-eyed as we sit down to watch a recorded episode of In the Night Garden. She is a big fan of Macca Pakka and his pals and will get a surprise next weekend when we take her to In the Night Garden live in Richmond Park. It will be like a young teenage girl going to watch JLS, she will even get her photo taken with Upsy Daisy, something I can embarass her with in years to come I guess, but for now it will be pure magic.

As for today, well, I am heading out to a soft play at 9.30, which every third Saturday in the month opens itself up for Dads and their kids and for £3 the kids can run riot for a couple of hours and the dads can sit and read the papers and eat bacon and egg sandwiches and drink coffee. I am looking forward to it.

There is some great racing on Racing UK today from York and Sandown and make sure you tune into Mark Your Card at 12.30 for a look ahead to all the action. It is to York where I go for today's selection. I am keen on getting involved in the 2.35pm where backing Hillview Boy each way at 7/1 may be rewarding. He ran well last time behind a useful sort at Hamilton and is in a lesser race today.  Jim Goldie has his team in decent form and Hillview Boy will have the added assistance of Graham Lee. At 7/1 he is fairly priced to get us out of our current slump!

I will be heading to Salisbury on Sunday to cover their seven-race card for Racing UK. James Willoughby will be my guest and the feature event is the Cathedral Stakes. We will also be bringing you Classic action from Chantilly. All in all a busy weekend for me. I hope you have an enjoyable couple of days and be sure to join us today and tomorrow on Racing UK.

All the best.
