Pythagorean looks the best angle to me

17 August 2012

Todays Selection:

2.20 Newbury - Pythagorean

Another day another dollar for me as I will be heading into the studio again to be the voice of Racing Replay. This involves watching all the racing today and then working with an editor to put together the replay program. There are five meetings for me to deal with today, so the whole project will keep me busy through the day and on into the evening.

Our selection yesterday was an each-way one and in finishing second at 5/1 we did not do any damage. Today I am keen on the chances of Pythagorean in the 2.20 at Newbury.

On debut this horse finished a good third to the very useful Montiridge in a race that has a tremendous look to it in terms of speed figures. Pythagorean shaped with plenty of promise and with James Doyle in the saddle he will be given excellent assistance. The one slight worry is that his debut effort came on heavy ground and today he will have much quicker conditions to deal with. Even so his debut speed figure marked him up as being useful and he does not need to progress much to win this.

I hope you can join us on Racing UK today for some tremendous action. I will be back with a somewhat longer missive tomorrow.

All the best
