Prolific’s Blog - The Racing Rollercoaster!
16 February 2012
Graham Lee has had some great days at Cheltenham but this year he will be watching from his sofa after his fall from Rich Lord at Southwell yesterday, a dislocated hip sound pretty painful and I wish him all the best in his recovery, he is not expected back this season. On the upside Ladbrokes has post huge profits again, unfortunately this healthy return has been boosted not from racing revenue but the highly addictive and highly infuriating FOBT roulette terminals in the shops. If I have one tip for you when you do collect some cash over the counter don’t give the bookies your hard earned money back on the spin of a computer wheel. It is also reported that Cue Card had a training set back and will go straight to Cheltenham for the Arkle, currently around 10/1 on the exchanges, I would not be looking to invest in a horse that has an interrupted preparation to the festival, especially with the recent weather there will be a lot of horses turning up fresh and raring to go.
Review and today
I have a severe case ‘second-itus’ at the moment, again both of yesterdays selections almost did the business, but not quite. This leads me to think I am picking the right horses, but just having some bad luck, when this happens I don’t chase losses I stick to my guns and wait for the tide to turn in my favour. Today I will look to get back in the black on Sannibel in the 7.15 Kempton, who’s win last time would suggest the 6lb penalty will not be enough to stop Tony Carroll’s charge from doubling up.

Favourite Girl won at 6-1. You recommended it as a ‘lay’. Lay means that you expect it not to win, right? So, that is bad. Am I correct?
