Monet can paint a pretty picture at Kempton

8 August 2012

Newmarket stalwart Jeremy Noseda has at last started to hit some form now summer is finally here and he has two runners today, both at Kempton Park tonight. Claude Monet, named after the famous French impressionist from yesteryear may well be fit enough to go in first time of asking. The trainer has a 21% strike rate with three-year-olds and a slightly better ratio on the artificial surface. The form of his opponents that have run before is less than inspiring and I see the race going to a newcomer with the Godolphin horse A'Juba the one to worry about.

His second selection is Niger in the following race. He won well last time out and although the form was hardly franked by Mark Johnston's Centrifugal last time out he is a short price to double up today. I am going to assume that Niger will either win or be in the frame and that leads me to think that Scrupul won't. Luca Cumani's Scrupul is starting to look like a pretty one-paced and frustrating animal and will be my Lay of The Day.

Good luck today.
