Singing in the Rain?
Review and today
What a great days racing Free Friday provided for us all at Newbury yesterday, with Long Run posting a very quick time, Zarkandar and Ruby Walsh barging there way through to victory and Sprinter Sacre dotting up, it made the prospects of what we can expect at Cheltenham in a few weeks even more mouthwatering. A couple of horses also go in the notebook for the future, Den Maschine scooted in under Adam Kirby at Wolverhampton and Off the Ground won well at Sandown and it will pay dividends to follow both of these two horses next time out and they go into my Nag Me account. http://nagme.com/horse/73357/Den-Maschine- http://nagme.com/horse/114999/Off-The-Ground- A great days racing today across the UK, the persistent rain at Haydock will mean stakes will be kept to a minimum at the Lancashire track apart from on Jonjo O'Neils Palace Jester in the 3.55 who won well last time in similar conditions. The trainers horses seem to be running into form and the owner Trevor Hemmings loves to have a winner at his local track. I will be covering myself with a place bet but will put this up as a win bet in the competition. I am sure Bourne's trainer Donald Mcain could find an easier task for his handicap debut but I think the horse will love the flat Ascot track and I will be having a similar bet on this horse as Palace Jester. Two more watching briefs for Cheltenham will be of interest today are the runs of Binocular at Wincanton and Zaidpour at Gowran park, these will both be odds on so if you want a little more value Richard Hannon's Numeral in the Lingfield 2.50 should show up a little better after a decent run last time and I really liked the way I Shot the Sheriff stayed on when winning at Southwell last time, and although he takes on all the big guns in a really competitive Ascot bumper, any price around 20/1 may well prove to be a e/w gift.Twitter @ProlificRUK
