Emirates Queen to beat Queen Hayley. Let’s have a forecast!

Now summer has finally arrived it looks like we may get some consistency in the ground conditions, but there will be a whole bunch of horses that will have been held back on the gallops for one reason or another that may need a run to blow the cobwebs away.
Added to this is the fact that some of the form lines of those that have run recently against each other on soft or heavy ground will easily be turned around on different conditions. Ground and distance are still the two most important aspects to consider when making selections.
Today I am looking to York for my Competition selection and Kieren Fallon looks to continue his excellent record at the track. He rides Emirates Queen for Luca Cumani in the tricky but interesting-looking Listed race at 7.30. She looked like she was in a little bit of trouble last time out but won well once she got a run through and was not stopping at the finish.
Mr Cumani is a master at improving his horses slowly and if the field stays with eight runners Emirates Queen is a firm each-way shout, with 'Our Hayley's' mount for the Her Majesty, Momentary, looking like the one to chase her home if you ignore her latest run and look at her performance when beating Shirroco Star at Newbury.
Frankie Dettori also has two nice rides at headquarters tonight. Stencive for Willie Haggas was turned over by a 50/1 shot last time and should gain some compensation tonight and Expert Fighter returns to ground conditions that saw him sluice up at Brighton recently.
