Diala in line for glory

28 June 2012

TIPS

3.10 WARWICK MIDNIGHT RIDER

3.40 WARWICK DIALA

Midnight Rider will welcome a return to a surface with a bit of give.  He was sixth to Trojan Rocket back in May at Newmarket on Good to Firm. Trojan Rocket has continued to frank the form by winning at the July course on Saturday. On both recent starts at Windsor Midnight Rider has found trouble in running and the hope is he’ll find plenty of room when swinging into the straight.

There are many fillies who carry the comments ‘should do better’ in their school reports in Warwick’s 3.40. Queen’s Revenge and Diala are two but in fairness Diala had a difficult seasonal debut - the QIPCO 1000 Guineas a race she was never in contention for, but nor was anything other than Homecoming Queen. Following her two runs in 2011 she was highly thought of within William Haggas’ yard.

The weather continues to play havoc on the racing schedules with the rain tormenting Newcastle ahead of their John Smith’s Northumberland Plate fixture. The course has a midday inspection and fingers are tightly crossed.
